I am a word game junkie. I was thrilled when I found a classic game of Boggle at a thrift store and coerced everyone I know into playing it with me (and created a few new Boggle fans, too!). Newfangled technology means that fans of word games can play games that resemble Boggle online., and the popular site Facebook features both Boggle and Scrabble look-alikes. But there’s something to be said for sitting down with a real person for a friendly game.

The folks at Kahala Mall Center must think so, too. Every Wednesday from 6:30-9:30 pm, the Center Court becomes Scrabble Club central as fans of the famous word game gather to play one, two or three 50-minute timed games. Practice and pick up some pointers to improve your game at this free event.

If your game playing tends to the more strategic, not to worry! Kahala Chess gathers in the same area from 6-8 pm on Wednesdays. It’s free to play and free to join the organization.
